The master plan development envisages creating over 70 deep draught berths to cater to a variety of cargoes. The Rewas Port based SEZ is a green field project and is located near Rewas headland at the confluence of Amba river, Karanja creek and Patalganga river on the West coast of Maharashtra, about 10 km from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). This SEZ will be the nodal point for exports from the Navi Mumbai Special Economic Zone (Spread over Dronagiri, Kalamboli and Ulwe) and the Mumbai Special Economic Zone.
The ISPAT SEZ in Raigad, Maharashtra is a multi-product SEZ. The Total investment on the project is likely to be around Rs 10,000 crore. The proposed Sea link will be a great connectivity factor as it will connect Sewri in Mumbai to Nhava in the Navi Mumbai district. The Nhava seaport connects to the NH 17 through various roads. This networking of the Nhava Sewri link with the NH 17, will lead to more companies setting up base in the Mahad MIDC and in turn contribute to the appreciation in Mahad.
