A special economic zone, when set up in a particular region, brings with it benefits in the form of investments, employment, exports as well as in the area of infrastructure. As the issues in land acquisition get sorted out and work begins on a SEZ, the regions where these SEZs are set up begin to see positive effects.
Companies are always looking to set up a special economic zone as they profit from it. As on January.15.2009, the Board of Approvals has granted Formal Approvals to 568 special economic zones in India.
Among these formally approved SEZs, Rassai Properties & Industries Limited is one such SEZ that is located in Hindupur, in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. This is a multi product and multi services SEZ of 2,500 acres. Out of this, the company is planning to develop a SEZ land of 2,250 acres and have already acquired 1,418 acres of land.
Plans for the SEZ consist of the following:
-
Development of Township
-
Infotech Park
-
Media City
-
Leisure
-
Entertainment
-
Residential
-
Education
-
Sports
-
Hospitality
Rashmika is located approximately 20-25 kms from the Rassai SEZ. With plans such as Township Development, Infotech Park, Hospitality, Media City, etc. the SEZ will have a multiplier effect on the region. Employment opportunities will be created which will lead to demand for various goods and services. Investments in the region will begin to take place in the form of infrastructural developments, etc. In time, this will make the region valuable and attractive to businesses and people. Real estate stands to gain due to these developments and this makes Rashmika an interesting proposition.
